It was with a great personal sadness that I learned of the death, on Sunday 15th July 2018, of Mrs Alice Byrne (née Ryan), Ard Mhuire, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mrs Byrne passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, while in the wonderful care of the Staff of the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.
Her passing is most deeply regretted by her husband John; son Shane; daughter Emma; grandchildren Elle and Edward; son-in-law James; nephews; nieces; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; cousins; extended relatives; neighbours and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mrs Byrne will lie in repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on tomorrow evening, Tuesday 17th July, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, to arrive at the Cathedral of The Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, at 8.00pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday 18th July, at 11.00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

I read this with great sadness. So many happy memories of visits to Thurles and the lovely company of Alice, John , Emma and Shane.
It’s sad that we have lost touch over the years. We send our deepest sympathy to John, Emma and Shane.
