It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of former jump jockey Mr Stan Murphy, Kilbrennal House, Ballynonty, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Fethard and Emly, Co. Tipperary.
Aged 76; the former 1973 Mackeson Gold Cup winner passed away suddenly, at Waterford Regional Hospital on Wednesday 2nd May 2018, following a short illness, and having undergone surgery for colon cancer.
His passing is most deeply regretted by Louise, Pat, Caroline and Suzanne; Vincent, Stan, Gillian, Nicky and Annette; brothers William and Patsy; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; extended relatives and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Murphy will lie in repose at Kilbrennal House, Ballynonty, Thurles, Co. Tipperary on tomorrow evening, Friday from 5.00pm to 8.00pm.
Funeral Mass will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Killenaule, Thurles, on Saturday morning at 11.30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Dualla Cemetery, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.
