Motorists are being asked to be careful when travelling on the R639 between Horse & Jockey and Littleton as a large tree has been blown down, courtesy of Storm Ophelia, blocking the roadway.
This news comes as we also learn that a male has been killed in a chainsaw accident, while attempting to clear a fallen tree, in south Co. Tipperary.
The man, aged in his early 30s, was gravely injured while attempting to clear a fallen tree at Ballybrado, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, at around 12.30pm this afternoon.
His body has since been removed to Clonmel Hospital, Co. Tipperary.

George. We saw on our news that three people have been killed in Ireland with this terrible Ophelia storm going through Ireland. We are thinking of you all at this terrible time. Take care.
George. Just to cheer you all up. Got news that we now can buy ‘KERRYGOLD BUTTER’ here on the Gold Coast and I suppose all states in Australia. ‘So off I went to the Supermarkets and found it at Woolworths. Absolutely great. Its $5.50 for a 250g net. both salted and unsalted. I will use it on the sandwiches for the next meeting. Will be great to see if any of our ex-pats notice any difference. We can buy quite a few things now from Ireland. Waiting for Thurles to come on board. Hope you all survived that terrible storm. Thinking of you all.
Hi Katie,
Everyone here in Thurles have survived TG. Rough storm which lasted about 5 hours, with a lot of damage done. Ireland’s South and West coast suffered worst.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. View Link: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/ophelia-in-pictures-1.3257522
