Riding his mount MHS Going Global today, Thurles and Ireland’s Greg Broderick has failed to make it through to the third round of the individual show jumping event in Rio.
Greg and his mount were among 65 partnerships that qualified for today’s second round, but alas their eight faults from round one meant they had left not margin for error today.
Regrettably four faults incurred at the water jump and a time fault today, saw horse and rider finish in a tie for 50th place, with only the top 45 permitted to progress to the next round.
Horse Sport Ireland Show Jumping team manager Mr Robert Splaine stated, after today’s event, that no one could be disappointed with the performance of either Greg or his mount, as both had jumped fantastically well in both their rounds on last Sunday and today.
