An elderly man has died in a road traffic accident in Co. Tipperary.
The man, understood to be aged in his early 70’s, died after the car he was driving collided with a second vehicle at Fortmoy Cross, Borrisokane, at approximately 5.15pm yesterday evening, in the north of the county.
A woman in her mid-60’s and the sole occupant of a second vehicle was removed to Limerick University Hospital with serious injuries.
This latest unfortunate death brings to 9 the total number of persons killed on Co. Tipperary roads since January 1st 2016.
