Thurles Rotary Club member Mr Sean Spain, pictured here, presenting a cheque for €500 to Mr Billy Shanahan, latter representing ‘Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind,’ following the clubs successful ‘Run – Walk – Cycle’ fund-raising event held on St. Stephen’s Day, December 26th 2014 last.
The fund-raising events, which took place from Thurles Rugby Club, involved a 55k Cycle Event, a Family Fun Cycle, a 10k Walk and 10k Road Race. For this event Thurles Rugby Club provided access to the full resources of their Clubhouse, thus assisting with the parking of vehicles together with shower and changing facilities for all those taking part.
In presenting the cheque Thurles Knights of Malta, Thurles Rugby Club and Thurles Gardaí were warmly thanked by the club membership for their great assistance in making this event such an outstanding success.
