It is with sadness we report two accidental deaths occurring here in Tipperary today.
The first unfortunate incident involved a collision between a truck and a male pedestrian on the main N24 entering Carrick on Suir, near Davin Park, close to the fire station.
Following this incident, which occurred around 3.00pm this afternoon, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
All emergency services, which including Gardaí, the fire brigade and Ambulance Crews attended at the scene.
In the second unfortunate accident, a man died in a workplace incident near Nenagh on the old N7 Limerick to Dublin road, shortly after 4.00pm this afternoon. The male, understood to be in his late 40’s, was fatally injured following a pressure test explosion at a gas pipe works site which is adjacent to the N7.
The Gardaí and Health and Safety Authority (HSA) have launched two separate investigations into this incident.
