With great sadness we again report that two people have died following a motor vehicle collision here in Co Tipperary earlier today. The two-car collision happened on the road (N52) between Nenagh and Borrisokane near Grange at approximately 5.20pm this evening.
A male and a female, both believed to be aged in their 60’s were fatally injured and were both pronounced dead at the accident scene. Another male passenger, latter aged in his twenties and who was also in the car, was seriously injured and rushed to the Midwest Regional Hospital in Limerick.
The driver of the second car believed to be a woman in her 30s, thankfully remained uninjured.
The road is closed to allow for a Garda forensic examination; with local diversions put in place, however due to poor light, motorists are advised that the road is expected to remain closed until the early part of tomorrow.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at Nenagh, Tel: 067-50450 or on the Garda Confidential Line Tel: 1800 666 111.
