Gardai have arrested a man in his 30’s, following a stabbing incident here in Thurles in the early hours of this morning.
The victim, who is believed to be a 22 year-old male, was removed by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital in South Tipperary following this altercation and is now understood to be in a stable condition.
The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at the entrance to Monakeeba, College Green, Beechwood Grove & Beechwood Lawns housing estates, here in Thurles.
In a follow up operation Gardaí have arrested a male aged in his 30’s and the suspected assailant has been taken to Thurles Garda Station, where he is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
It is understood that Gardaí during a follow-up search also discovered a knife in the vicinity of the crime scene.
The area remained sealed off between the hours of 4:00am and 10:00am this morning, for a technical and forensic examination.
