The wedding took place today, under a warm, sunny Autumnal sky, of the very lovely Miss Louise Ryan, daughter of Mrs Chris and Mr Michael Ryan, Glenbane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, to Mr Liam Pollard, son of Mrs Breda and Mr Donal Pollard, Gortnahoe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
The marriage ceremony took place in the historic Abbey of Holy Cross, Thurles, Co.Tipperary, with the ceremony conducted by Rev. Canon Liam Ryan, Uncle of the bride.
Escorted down the aisle by her father Michael, the bride looked stunningly beautiful wearing a Maggie Sottero designer lace dress, encrusted with diamonds. Equally beautiful were her accompanying bridesmaids, Valerie Briody & Mairead Darcy, who both wore full-length, Thyme Green evening gowns with ruched bodices. Also adding to the splendour of this occasion were Flower Girls, Grace Pollard & Stephanie Briody.
The groom Liam and his two Groomsmen, John Pollard (BestMan), & Matthew Pollard all looked dashing in black evening suits, elegantly highlighted by white Oxford Plain shirts with waistcoats and matching white silk ties.
The couple proclaimed their love for each other in front of a large gathering of over 190 family members and close friends, with music provided by Church music specialist Mr Stephen Murphy.
Scripture readings were undertaken by Siobhan Burke & Bernard Darcy, while prayers of the faithful were read by Jack Darcy, Edel Pollard, Sarah Miskella, Marie Quigley Gallagher and John Armstrong. The Offertory Procession of bread & wine was carried to the alter by Mrs Chris Ryan & Mrs Breda Pollard.
Following the ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Pollard retired to the very popular local wedding venue, Dundrum House Hotel & Golf Resort, Dundrum, Thurles, Co Tipperary, where guests were entertained to a Champagne reception, together with other light refreshments.
Following family photographs in the beautiful manicured woodlands & gardens surrounding this luxurious hotel complex, the newly married couple joined their guests in the hotels main Ballroom for dinner, which was followed by dancing late into the evening.
The couple have chosen San Francisco & Las Vegas as their favoured honeymoon destination.
“To Louise & Liam, go all best wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together.” This is the earnest wish of both your families and your very many good friends, here in Co.Tipperary.
