Their marriage took place in the historic Cathedral of The Assumption, Thurles, with the ceremony presided over by Rev. Fr. Philip Barry, (Pallottine Order) a relative of the bride.
Escorted down the aisle by her father Phil, the bride looked stunningly beautiful in a traditional white, full length “Hourglass,” strapless afternoon gown, covered in beaded lace, with “Sweetheart” neckline, fishtail train and wearing fresh flowers as her head piece.
Equally beautiful were her accompanying bridesmaids, Ellen Stakelum and Ailís Browne, who both wore jade green, full-length evening gowns, with pleated bodices & also wearing fresh flower head pieces.
The groom, Stephen, and his groomsmen, William & Paul Browne, looked dashing in their grey evening suits, elegantly highlighted by white wing collared shirts, cream waist coats & and matching cream silk cravats. Also adding to the splendour of this occasion were Flower Girl Hannah Maher and Pageboy Conor Browne.
Scripture readings were undertaken by Michelle Browne & Philip Ryan, while ‘Prayers of the Faithful,‘ were recited by Ciara Maher, Fiona Browne, Caitriona Cass, Fidelma Coakley, Grace McDonald & Aaron Martin. The traditional ‘Communion Reflection,’ was read by Stiofan Ryan.
The couple expressed their love for each other in front of a large gathering of close family and friends, while music and song for the ceremony were performed by the very talented organist Rachel Cornally, accompanied by superb vocalists Edel Morris & Melanie Butler.
Following the ceremony, the new Mr & Mrs Browne retired to the popular wedding venue, the Anner Hotel, here in Thurles, Co.Tipperary, where guests, on arrival, were met by the manager Mr Michael Cleary, before being entertained to a strawberry & champagne reception, together with other light refreshments.
Following family photographs, in the beautiful manicured gardens adjoining the hotel, the newly married couple joined over 200 guests in the hotels “Banqueting Suite,” for dinner, which was followed by dancing, late into the evening.
“To Corrie & Stephen, from all your family and many, many friends here in Thurles & the surrounding areas, go all good wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together. ”
