Sinead O’Keeffe, Commercial Manager, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind (IGDB), travelled to Thurles on Tuesday evening last to accept a cheque on behalf of the organisation, for €40,000. Mr Billy Shanahan, Guide Dog owner and a team organiser presented the cheque on behalf of the Scottish Motorbike Challange 2012 team.
This charitable donation is the most recent fundraising for IGDB here in Tipperary and our picture shows Mr Billy Shannahan pictured with his Guide Dog ‘Bess,’ together with just some of the many bikers from Waterford and Tipperary, who played a vital part in organising this huge fundraising even. Also pictured here is Mr Gavin Allman with his Guide Dog ‘Nevin,’ and Mr Padraig Mallon, Chief Executive, IGDB.
Newly appointed IGDB Communications Manager Marguerite Tierney (also a Tipperary native) stated today “We wish to extend a big thank you to Billy for the huge efforts involved by him and his team in raising this money and to all those in Tipperary and further afield who supported him. It’s fantastic and the result of lots of hard work, which we as an organisation greatly appreciate.”
