The Munster Council has adopted a motion preventing counties from offering home advantage to their opponents in return for financial gain.
This follows the furore surrounding the recent Munster SHC final when Waterford offered home advantage to their opponents Cork in return for a share of the gate receipts which led to the final being eventually fixed for Semple Stadium, Thurles.
The Council has ruled that Cork, Limerick and Tipperary are the only three counties permitted to enter into any home and away agreements at senior hurling level as these Counties have the only stadiums with the capacity for the holding of such games.
Any future clashes involving Clare and Waterford are to be scheduled by the Munster Council in consultation with the aforementioned counties.
