Wedding bells rang out to clear Summer skies from the Church of The Sacred Heart, nestled in the beautiful hilly village of Upperchurch, Thurles, Co.Tipperary, yesterday, for local beauty Miss Mairead Buckley.
The very lovely Miss Buckley, daughter of Mrs Margaret and Mr Pat Buckley Finnahy, Upperchurch, Thurles, and Mr Thomas Maxwell, son of Mrs Joan and Mr Sean Maxwell, Glenaguile, Toomevara, Nenagh, Co.Tipperary, both publicly proclaimed their love for each other in front of a huge and adoring gathering of friends and family.
The stunning bride, who arrived to the ceremony in a classic Black And Silver Rolls Royce, Silver Cloud III, was escorted down the aisle, to be given away by her father Pat.
The marriage ceremony’s chief celebrant was Rev. Fr. P.Greed, ably assisted by popular local curate Rev. Fr. L.Brennan and Rev.Fr. W.McCormack.
Music for the event was superbly provided by the much celebrated local musical duo of Pat and Kathy Phelan, assisted by the well known traditional Tipperary violinist, Tim McSherry.
Following the ceremony Mairead and Thomas entertained their guests in the wonderful gardens of the Great National Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, where over 250 guests enjoyed a champagne reception, combined with this seasons fresh strawberries, and during which family photographs were taken. This reception was then followed later in the evening by a lavish six course banquet.
Music and dancing continued well into the early hours and over the next few days the happy couple will depart on honeymoon to tour some of America’s major beauty spots.
Friends and neighbours in Upperchurch and Toomevara County Tipperary send their very best wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together and thank you both, most sincerely, for a really most enjoyable day.
