Jedward, John and Edward Grimes are expected to make their first Irish public appearance at the Spar European Cross Country Championships in Santry Park, Dublin on December 13.
Jedward are themselves keen cross country runners and have been invited to the event to support their club mates from the Dundrum South Dublin club who will be representing Ireland on the day.

Mr Eddie McDonagh, head coach for Dundrum South Dublin Athletics Club, stated:
“We will be overjoyed if John and Edward are able to come along to the European Cross Country to help support their team mates. The club are very proud of what they have achieved and we gave them huge support all the way through their time on the X Factor, so hopefully they will be anxious to give their team mates similar support on December 13th next.”
John and Edward finished 1st and 2nd at the Dublin Regional indoor finals earlier this year and then went on to the National finals here in Thurles, finishing 3rd and 4th respectivly in the 1,500 metre event. While this year may have been a bit too soon Eddie McDonagh certainly would have seen them make the Irish team for the European Cross Country Championships next year, although he believes they may now be following a different path in their careers presently.
Irish athletics legends Sonia O’Sullivan and Catherina McKiernan are also expected to attend the event and Athletes like Mary Cullen, Martin Fagan and Ciara Mageean will all be hoping to fight for a podium position as part of what should be a strong Irish team across all six events.
The Spar European Cross Country Championships will take place in Ireland for the very first time on December 13th this year in Santry Park, Dublin.
