Warm Irish sunshine beamed brightly down on at least one very happy local Tipperary couple yesterday.
The very lovely Miss Teresa Keane, daughter of Breda and Thomas Keane, Holycross, Thurles, Co Tipperary and Mr Gerard Shorley, son of Joan and Seamus Shorley, Drish, Thurles, Co.Tipperary choose yesterday to declare their love publicly in front of a large congregation of family and friends.
The magnificent and historic Abbey of Holycross was their chosen venue for their marriage ceremony, presided over by celebrant and local parish priest Fr.Tom Breen. A stunning bride, was escorted down the isle by her father Thomas Keane, who, incidentally, was celebrating his own wedding anniversary with wife Breda. Thomas and Breda were married thirty nine years previously on exactly the same day and same date. Congratulations to you both.
Following the ceremony the happy couple together with their families and friends moved to the near-bye town of Thurles, and to the Anner Hotel where the couple shared a wee drop of champagne and were photographed, before entertaining their guests to a lavish reception.
Celebrations will continue until Tuesday when the new Mr & Mrs Shorley are expected to travel on honeymoon to Jamaica in the Caribbean.
From all your friends and many admirers in Co.Tipperary, best wishes to you both for a happy and prosperous life together.
