All motorists are being warned to take extra care on the roads today and tomorrow because of flooding.
Heavy surface water and flooding have being reported in a many parts of the country with the AA Roadwatch warning drivers to take extreme care, particularly on the N7 from Naas to Dublin.
The AA also warn drivers that similar conditions exist in Galway city centre area and around Thurles, Co Tipperary where secondary roads have also been badly affected.
Road works are in place on the Newport/Thurles Rd (R503) between the Metal Bridge and Shevry Cross until Friday 28th August. This is to facilitate badly needed resurfacing works. Note: A Stop/Go and convoy system will be in operation on this stretch of road.
With the promise of more heavy rain expected this evening and tonight conditions are expected to worsen, so drive with care.
