With Christmas only a few weeks away, all shop windows in Thurles are now displaying their finery. The display window of Dwans Hardware Stores in Cathedral Street is particularly eye-catching this year, forcing even the busiest shopper to halt awhile and stare.
Thurles Town Council are just putting the finishing touches to the Christmas street lighting which each year, over this festive season, creates a warm and cheery atmosphere for shoppers.
On Sunday, 7th December the Christmas Lights will be officially turned on in Thurles Town. To coincide with this event Thurles Chamber is organising a Christmas party day between 2.00pm and 6.00pm in Liberty Square. This includes the arrival of Santa Clause, Face Painting and other children’s entertainment. The Thurles Farmers Market will set up their stalls in the afternoon. Hot refreshments will be served to the adults while the children will receive goodies prepared by Santa Clause himself.
